Tuchel explains 'unfair' decision to keep Christian Pulisic on Chelsea bench against Everton

Chelsea Boss "Thomas Tuchel" says that Christian Pulisic has been "unfortunate" not to start for the Club as Tuchel has full trust in his former Dortmund player.

The Club have dominated since Thomas Tuchel take over the Coaching job for Frank Lampard in January, with the most recent triumph coming in a 2-0 victory against Everton.

Under Thomas Tuchel Coaching, Chelsea are currently unbeaten in their nine matches, but Christian Pulisic has contributed less this Season, having been left out of every one of Thomas's English Premier League starting line-up since he took over from Lampard.

        Thomas Tuchel on pulisic

"I can say nothing else but good things about pulisic. Maybe his biggest problem is that I know him from Dortmund and I think he started only in the cup matches," Chelsea Boss said. "It is my duty as a Coach and it's a bit unfair but I know what impact he can have in the last 20 or 30 minutes.

"He was a bit unfortunate in the last few matches. It is not a lack of trust or quality, it is just that he'll have to be patient. "I've another guy who I'd love to mention in Emerson who suffers from bad decisions by me.

He does not play but he's an amazing guy who trains at the highest level and he never lets the team down with his mentality.

It was a super hard decision today's game to have him out of the squad, the same with Tammy.

"It's like this, we've a strong group. The guys have to keep on fighting. There is no other way."

Pulisic this Season

After emerging as one of Chelsea's stars after the restart previous seasons, Christian Pulisic has struggled to return to that form this Season.

The U.S. international player "Christian Pulisic" has only found the back of the net twice in his last 24 appearances for the Club this Campaign and has now left out of the starting XI since Thomas Tuchel's take in charge.

Thomas Tuchel, who previously managed Christian Pulisic from 2016-2017 while the 2 were both at  Dortmund, has said that he's sure that Christian deserves to start for the Club but has yet to select him as a starter in the Premier League.
